Talks & Tasting: A MARRIAGE OF SAKE AND WAGASHI

The primal scene of rice fields always touches our hearts. Japanese sake is made from the rice and the tastes of sake vary with raw materials, climate, and technical preservation. Four seasons and rural scenery are great blessings to us. Wagashi, Japanese confectionery can be served as an interpreter to lead us feel delicate changes of our surrounding atmosphere. Here at KOSAKA, lecture and tasting named “a marriage of sake and wagashi” will be held to invite you enjoy exquisite four different tastes of sake and wagashi on the latest ceramics by Akihiro Nikairo. Come hear from participating artists Yasunobu Tomita, the fifteen generation sake brewer of Shichi-Hon-Yari, and Shiho Sakamoto of wagashi chef. Tomita will explain characteristics in the flavor profile of sake and Sakamoto will serve wagashi specially for this special occasion.
